Thank god for no IE7 for Windows 2000, we only got it for Windows XP because of Firefox eating IE's market share, not for any other reason.

It gets more confusing. If you have Windows 2000, you're eligible to purchase the upgrade editions of Vista. However, you can't perform an upgrade, a clean install is required.

Windows 2000 is all but dead as far as Microsoft is concerned. Since June 2005 it's been on "extended support". IE7 and other products are not including Win2K. Security updates and all support will end in 2010.
