<description>Why anyone would think it's a good idea to use a cracked version of an anti-virus, or run a keygen (especially without without any anti-virus) is beyond me. Anti-virus software should be installed to prevent malware on a system, not introduce more of it.

If you don't want to pay for an anti-virus, use one free versions mentioned in the post. While McAfee and Norton are fine products, their popularity also makes them frequent targets to be disabled by malware. For paid anti-virus, I recommend NOD32: http://www.eset.com Kaspersky is also very good, but requires more system resources.</description>

		<description>hi
good point u have here, in fact it was something not only i thought about but also tried:
i already have Mcafee 8.0i installed and update it regularly...old version? well yeah but u can have it forever, never mind that.
Till a short time i was convinced that Mcafee was one of the best antivirus programs there is (and was more convinced by a computer expert who -with his colleagues- all shared the same point of view)
and actually i didnt have much troubles with mcafee and found it effecient in catching virused programs until one day i downloaded a program setup (unfortunately from a torrent) which appeared clean upon scan...
THEN ALL HELL BROKE LOOSE UPON INSTALLING IT
The setup contained a very strong yet old virus that only appeared after the setup opened and its files were poured into the windows especially the SYSTEM32 folder, this virus infected every EXE file that appeared in any window i opened, it even infected some of the McAfee files...
Anyway, i was able to rescue all the files i needed , formatted the PC and started to explore all the present used antivirus programs...I dont want to frustrate you guys in that the list doesnt end but surprisingly i found that there are many new powerful programs in the market...of course I would be another idiot to buy any of them, instead i find the software with what's called a crack or patch or keygen or activation code or key, &#38; install it...
After researching I found that the best antivirus progs are
kaspersky
bitdefender
avast
antivir
avg
then comes mcafee
then norton
and a list of many others.....
So here's my advice to you
try to find one of these that is cracked &#38; working then install it
dont buy any software
but dont be greedy
use only one
HERE'S WHAT HAPPENED WITH ME
Along with the Mcafee, kaspersky 7.0 could not be installed and after removing Mcafee, no activation key in the whole internet worked
so i removed it , re installed Mcafee
then got bitdefender (being freely downloaded, i wanted the biggest of its products so i installed the TOTAL SECURITY - not INTERNET security nor just the antivirus)
creating an activation code with a keygen initially worked but the program was deactivated from the server upon trying to update it
still i reactivated it with another key without updating
and after restarting the PC
i found that my computer was completely paralyzed and was as if from the stone age, nothing opened,no folder,no program, and uninstalling bitdefender wasnt any easy, I had to use SAFE MODE...
I dont want to be an advertiser to a program over the other
the only way to know is to try
or search for answers
I solved my problem in the end
how ?
by determination
