I also recently transfered files from my old laptop (which was bogged down with hidden start up applications and processes) to my new laptop. And as soon as the transfer was done, my new laptop became as slow and crappy as my old one (which is ridiculous considering that my new laptop has 4x the RAM, hard drive space and double the processing speed). So the take home message from this is:

If your old computer was slow or crappy because of add-ons or other hidden startup applications or processes, DON'T USE THE BELKIN CORD. It does NOT let you individually choose what gets transferred to your new laptop...it transfers EVERYTHING. And if you got a new laptop to have a fresh start, the Belkin cord is NOT the way you want to go. I recommend using a flash drive or external hard drive to move only what you want in order to keep your brand new laptop running like it should...like a brand new machine.
