Would you ever switch over from a PC to a Mac.?
Which came first: Chicken or the Egg?? How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop?? Who really stole the cookie from the cookie jar?? Which is better: PC or a Mac?
Those 4 questions may die with our race as humans, but I’m out and determined to solve the last one.? I’ve recently been battling my close friend over my fully loaded dell and his nicely stocked MacBook Pro.? He always tells me his is way better and if I tried to use one, I would surely switch over.? Quite frankly, I’m more worried about the side effects: More interest in arts and music, snotty tendencies and the “feeling” that I’m better than everyone else.
It’s back to school time and I’ve seen all the returning students run off and buy their Dell’s, HP’s and Mac’s…some forced to unwillingly turn to Lenovo’s and other IBM machines.? I’ve been privileged enough to use, own, operate and toy with 3 out of the 4 I just listed above but I’ve always wondered about the one that got away.? I’ve been very against using a Mac, and I take a strong loyalty to Windows and its dominance in the computing world.
I understand I will receive tons of feedback from this post claiming my stupidity and ignorance, but I ask you to understand and acknowledge I’ve been using computers for quite some time, I’ve had my fair share of variety, and that I have an open mind.
For that reason, I’ve decided to try going cold turkey and order a new MacBook Pro (15″) with the new Snow Leopard.? I’m going to use it just like I would my normal computer, not review it for its performance, but its overall experience and at the end of 30 days, I’ll reflect on if I became a true Mac follower.
This may be one of my last posts on a Windows machine for a month, but I hope to experience a new environment, learn more about the Apple philosophy on software designed for its hardware and maybe find out why every guy uses his Mac to try and pick up chicks.
I’ll see you on the other side.
