I got an error saying “C:\Users\L\Downloads\mssefullinstall-x86fre-en-us-vista-win7.exe is not a valid Win32 application.” and I have no idea what to do with it or what it means.? Is this a virus file or what happened?? I tried to download something from the internet but I thought it was safe.? Please help!

Don’t be alarmed, the error you’re receiving is just because a file was not able to download correctly.? Confused on how you got this error?? Here are some possible causes for this error and how to fixt it!

The first logical explanation for this error is that the file did not download correctly or completely.? Browsers such as Internet Explorer perform some security checks (or attempt to) when downloading files from the internet and do not completely download a file when it is verifying the file and will cause the file to appear fully downloaded when it is really not.

Other browsers will also stop downloading a file if you close the browser itself or if you try to access another file, folder or program that may interfere with your internet connection.

In order to fix this error, I suggest you let each file download completely before you try to click on them or use them.? Make sure that the download box is empty and is completely clear of any scans the browser is attempting to make.? In your case, it looks like the file you are trying to download is Microsoft Security Essentials so I would suggest trying to download it straight from Microsoft.

The only last case for this error is that the actual file is corrupt due to your computer; you can try to download it from another computer and move it over via removable media.
