Happy Birthday YouTube!? Congratulations on being five years old and one of the most trafficked websites in the world (currently 3rd in the world, 4th in the US).

YouTube, born as a way for bloggers to import videos and embed them easier on their posts, has become one of the prime topic of the internet, especially after attracting big attention from the guys at Google.

YouTube was created by *then* Paypal co-workers Steve Chen and Jawed Karim on February 2005 and the first video uploaded on April 23rd, 2005.? As previously stated, it was a way to help bloggers insert videos on their posts easier than software allowed at the time.

YouTube was sold in about 19 months to Google for approximately 1.65 billion dollars and the stats have never looked back since.? After becoming integrated into the tech giant, YouTube has become a prime integration in many products including potential to become part of Google’s TV plans.

Approximately every minute, 24 hours of new video is now uploaded to the website which equates to around 150,000 full movies a week.? These videos have highlighted some of the most controversial arguments of or time, but that’s what makes our freedom of speech protection so crucial.? YouTube has also been the home for rising stars and talent looking to become discovered.? The amount of singers, dancers, movie makers that are becoming discovered by top record industry producers are becoming exponential.? In fact, most people are now considering it a career to move out to large cities in California and pursue their dreams of becoming famous by auditioning on the internet!

In the past 5 years, YouTube has grown very quickly.? I know I visit the site at least once or twice a day just to watch silly and funny videos that everyone seems to be talking about…yourself?
