Ever wonder why some ink can be so cheap while the counterparts are so overpriced?
Make sure you’re buying the right ink and that you are getting the best deal possible!
There are mainly two brands of ink when you decide to repurchase: OEM or generic.? OEM stands for original equipment manufacturer and that is ink that comes straight from the printer producer made especially for that printer.
OEM printer ink is a lot like name brand clothing or medication.? It is great and does exactly what it is meant to do but it costs more than the generic brand.? The generic brand is usually as effective but costs less since it is not made with special or fancy packaging and is made in more bulk for more than one printer.
The best way to find the proper ink for your printer (if it does not already prompt you as many printers do with the help of installed software) is to Google “**Name of Printer** ink cartridges”.? The name of the printer can usually be found right on the front of the printer.? It will start with either Dell or HP or Lexmark etc and a model number.? The search results in Google will come up with some links from websites that will present you either with the manufacturer cartridge replacement or the generic brand.? Be sure that the company or website you are purchasing from has reviews and recommendations as well as a customer service number you can call.
Printers that use two cartridges, black and color, will be more expensive than printers that separate into 6 different types of cartridges.? Those 6 split up the colors of the ink so you do not have to buy expensive all-in-one color cartridges which might not be entirely empty.? If you waste up all of the green or blue ink in a color cartridge, you would have to buy an entirely new color refill versus just a small individual blue or green color cartridge which would be a 1/5th of the price.? Be sure to investigate this when buying a new printer.? The printer itself may be more expensive up front, but the cost would run even right after your first ink purchase.
